I initially met Sarah’s Mum ( Liz) at Middleton Lodge Christmas event and we happened to chat about wedding make-up. As Sarah lives in London we arranged the trial when she was visiting family in the dark winter month of February. We discussed at great lengths how Sarah wanted to look on her Wedding Day and took inspiration from some of the beauty icons of Grace Kelly and Audrey Hepburn.
Come Springtime on their Wedding Day at Middleton Lodge, I arrived at my favourite wedding venue Middleton Lodge and favourite Bridal Suite, the Oak Room, which has three huge Georgian windows with plenty of light to create the look for Sarah. Sarah was beaming with happiness and the room was full of laughter and plenty of giggles with her sisters and her mum Liz.
With the make-up I wanted to keep it delicate to suit Sarah personality and to take into account her fair complexion. One of my strong beliefs in make-up is to make sure the skin complexion is as flawless as possible and this was created using Ariane Poole Retexturising Primer which makes the skin look like velvet and a light coverage foundation Ariane Poole Mineral Tint in Porcelain which was applied with a foundation brush again to create a barely there look. The eye make-up was a subtle enhancement of a smoky shadow but to keep the eyes soft and delicate thanks to Ariane Poole Eye Shine in Cosmic which is a soft cream eyeshadow I applied this with my fingertips. To create the slightly darker shade I used the powder luxury palette Charlotte Tilbury in Sophisticate and blended the same colour with the eyeliner. To add the flushed “English rose” cheeks I used a cream blusher by Charlotte Tilbury Beach Stick in Las Salinas and finally complimented with lipstick by Lipstick Queen in Saint Rose.
