A couple of weeks ago I met a pure talented photographer called Brett Harkness. I was asked to create a look for his training course for a group of photographers who were learning the concept of Wedding Day Daylight and Flash Photography.
I wanted to share with you the two images that Brett himself took of the day including all the skills you need for this type of photography.
During the many years in this industry I have met numerous photographers and understand a small amount of the skill of photography. Believe it or not make-up can look so different on different types of camera ranging from Canon to Nikon, to the top end range of Phase One Cameras… so I needed to know how to create the looks which would suit daylight and flash photography for the course.
The make-up I used on the day was by Charlotte Tilbury.
I asked Brett how he created the looks as quoted by the man himself…
‘My camera is a Canon EOS 1ds Mark III – 24-70mm & 50mm 1.2 L lens. For the flash shot it was shot with the modelling light of an Elnichrom RX Speed AS pack & 70cm softbox with honeycomb.’
If you want to refresh some skills or learn more about Day Light and Flash photography check out his course at Middleton Lodge on 3 November 2014. More information regarding this course can be found here.
