I loved the trip to the Scottish Borders to be part of Caroline & Shea's wedding. Held in the beautiful Chirnside/ Kelso area, this part of the country never fails to impress me and makes for an idyllic wedding day backdrop.
With the weather blessing the lovely couple with a warm glorious day the countryside setting truly came to life under the warm glow of the sun.
A private wedding took place on the family farm where I endeavoured to replicate the aforementioned glow from the sunshine in Caroline's bridal make-up. It was important to Caroline her look was in keeping with the outdoor location...
I first met Sophie back in March 2020, just a few days before official lockdown number 1 began. It was her bridal make-up trial I can remember her in tears, as any bride would be, all that time ago filled with uncertainty for what would come of her wedding she had planned for June 2020. Little did we know back then just how naive we were to hope for a much smaller set back than we got, in almost every way of life let alone weddings!
None the less we went ahead with the trial with crossed fingers and minds filled with hope. During we discussed what key elements Sophie felt were important to her for wedding...

After rescheduling and rearranging multiple times throughout lockdown after lockdown, at last the 25th of July 2021 was the one that stuck for Laura and her husband. Delighted to finally get married Laura was such a joy to work with for her wedding morning and even more of a joy was to receive this message after from the lovely bride herself...
"Honestly Jo, you were amazing to have as our make-up artist. Our make-up stayed on all day, we looked as good as we did when you had just finished at 3am! None of us could believe someone could be so talented at that! Thank you so much!"
What a compliment,...
It's always exciting when a wedding I work on makes a feature with one of our many amazing wedding media platforms we have here in the UK. Mostly because it's just so lovely to see all that hard work, planning, excitement and joy that I know the couple went through is now going to be passed on to inspire so many new couples.
For Danielle and Ben that's exactly what their Love My Dress feature is all about, scrolling through the pages of dreamy shots by Georgina Harrison it's hard not to get filled with blissful thoughts and ideas of what you'd pinch for your own day.
You might remember a couple...
I first chatted to Danielle around the end of March 2020, back whilst we were all still in Lockdown 1, which feels soooo long ago now. If only we knew then what we do now! Anyone else remember thinking it might of all blown over in a couple months at the most? Over a year later, with a lot of patience and careful planning, Danielle and Benjamin were thrilled to finally tie the knot on the 1st of July 2021.
With original plans of a romantic Italian destination wedding, Danielle quickly shifted gears as the pandemic took hold and wisely chose an equally desirable second option, the Fig House...
