This week's blog is something super fun, it's so cool to look back over at the final product now it's been released. Recently I joined the team over at END. for a shoot paying homage to the phoenix-like resurgence of the OG Nike Dunk throughout 2020.
They've opted to use a yearbook style format to cast each pair in a manner that emulates the varisty nostalgia they so deserve as the 'Class of 2020'. After all 35 years in the making this franchise is still going from strength to strength continuing its legacy and the rich culture behind them. For me my task was to work along side the production...
Hot of the press it's the latest editorial in issue 11 of rakesprogress magazine, a modern publication on a mission to showcase the glory of mother nature. It's an undeniable truth that it is good for all of us to take a little time to connect with the great outdoors and rakesprogress inspires just that. From striking editorials to helpful guides on all things green fingered, it's a beautiful way to bridge the gap between the natural and media worlds.
For this shoot by the incredible Asia Werbel featuring Mulberry pieces you can expect a selection of stylised film images of portraits...
After finishing another show season earlier this year I landed back in the UK reeling with inspiration and excitement. Luckily for me that coincided with an opportunity to work with some new make-up I'd yet to try. I teamed up with coveted photographer Lee Scullion to put brush to skin and dip into my creative energy with a handful of new Shiseido products.
We wanted to create a photo set with japanese influences full of spirit that captured the essence of the moment with a warm and soft focus on the eyes as the windows to the soul. Beauty Modé is the crossroads where spirituality meets cosmetic...
I'm back again with another stylish shoot with contemporary brand for sourcing menswear, END. This time we were out on location with a geographically striking backdrop to shoot for the ASICS Gel Kinsei OG, which launched on the 29th of August through the END. Launches platform.
Again I was keeping it simple prepping the skin with some Bioderma skincare which always makes for a healthy supple base to create these fresh faced looks. After this I used neutral make-up by Nars with subtle tones to give the face a naturally dimensional and perfected finish.
Futuristic yet still in keeping with...
Now that END. have published their blog I too can share with you one of my latest projects working with them for the exciting launch of the New Balance ML850YSC sneakers.
Working on this shoot I wanted to create a neutral but dewy look that still showed off the fantastic bone structure of the models face. Keeping it fresh faced and natural looking allowed for a for the focus of the shoot to remain on the sneakers chunky retro style whilst still bringing a polished edge to the entire look that was pulled together by myself and the styling team.
To do this I used a selection of products from Bioderma,...
Collectible Dry is an online platform focused on fashion, art and beauty content which reputes itself for its unendorsed points of view and being a place where meaning prevails over an overload of the repeatable. They also create fantastic content for their magazine which has just launched it's Issue 11, inside the pages of which you can find an ultra stylish Kenzo editorial I created the make-up looks for. Take a look below for the Images, what I used and what Kenzo pieces the models are wearing!

After spending a week catching my breath and getting back up to speed with my work back here in the UK I wanted to take time to post a final peak into my life during show season. As always with its been a busy yet rewarding few weeks, I'm always grateful for the opportunity to work on teams with talented creatives refining my skills and creating my signature perfected skin looks for the designers.
Here are some pictures from behind the scenes in London, Milan and Paris which capture a day in the life of Jo on catwalk shows. From a rare day off in sunny Paris to garment close ups and snaps of products...
2019 has started and we are already now in the 3rd week of January already, I've been busy getting stuck into a new year of exciting and creative work. My latest and first piece I wanted to share with you this year is my work on some looks with award winning hairdresser Marcus King of King and I.
To create the looks for these images I wanted to keep the focus on a very natural appearance as it was all about hair that Marcus has created for this photoshoot. One of the images for example I wanted to really showcase the models natural freckles and have caught some behind the scenes showcasing me using...
