This July we’re revisiting Falcus & Wood, the incredible brand by the North East’s bridal visionary Kate Falcus Wood. Kate is re-launching after a pause to focus on motherhood has left her with a renewed sense of clarity. Now she’s back and shifting the tides of bridal fashion even more than before, as she embraces the power of feminity to design wedding wear for the brides who value emotional connection over convention.
This is the new bridal, born from a place of wanting women to feel entirely themselves on their own wedding day. Kate’s 15 years designing in the fashion industry shows in the couture hand finishes and bold corseted silhouttes that are meticulously perfected beyond belief. The relaunch campaign called for a makeup look that felt as equally empowering and flawless for the models as the garments did.
My signature makeup style fit the brief exactly, a natural dewy skin base that lets the models own beauty to shine. Enhanching their features to emphasise connection over correction. The Ariane Poole Concealer Palette Trio is a great way to start with this, allowing me to use minimal coverage to build a seamless complexion that needs little else. A thin layer of the Typology Tinted Face Serum follows up, with its skincare focused formula allowing for a lit from within glow.
The WBCo The Brow Pencil adds a full, rich feeling to fluffy brows. The pigments used in these amazing fine tipped pencils are the best I’ve ever come across for mimicking natural brow hair.
Then to bring in the dewy aspect of the brief we of course used the Lisa Eldridge Elevated Glow Highlighter for a realistic radiance. Finishing things off with the Vanilla Beige shade from Summer Fridays Lip Butter Balm, the juicy glossy finish was the perfect natural tone for the campaign’s vibe.
Falcus & Wood is available now – Want the natural dewy makeup style to match? Enquiries for 2026/27 bridal makeup bookings are open, just email your details to jo@makeupbyjo.co.uk!
Enjoy, Jo x
