If you were paying attention on my last blog chatting about the beautifully creamy Jillian Dempsey Lip and Cheek Tints, then you may have spyed my new favourite jumper from Jumper Gang. Well if you didn’t you totally should head over there right now to check out that glowy goodness, otherwise lucky for you I am here to share the details about these super cosy jumpers.
This jumper was the brain child of Emily Radjen, a fellow make-up artist and working in theatre and ballet with the likes of the highly acclaimed Matthew Bourne. Due to the Covid pandemic there have been a multitude of restrictions that have created huge issues for the theatre industry who have sadly had to close their doors. In this time Emily has been missing the industry so much she decided to pick up her Grandma’s sewing machine and channel her frustrations into a creative outlet, these jumpers with the famous quote – ‘The Earth without Art is Eh‘.
This resonated with me because of how my own ability to work and create art has been not only affected by the pandemic, but how the government has repeatedly made our work the lowest of its priorities. During this time at home we have all gotten through it consuming so much content, be it music, tv, film, books, webpages, all of these only made possible by artists. Art deserves some recognition and I feel this quote is quite apt, I’d hate to think of what 2020 would have been without art!
As Emily is so passionate about the theatre industry she wanted to make sure she used her new passion project to give back and support where she could. Some of the proceeds of the sales of these jumpers will be going to Acting for Others who are providing financial and emotional support those in the theatre industry struggling amidst the Covid crisis. You know it’s a fantastic charity when their Presient is the one and only Dame Judi Dench!
I am so glad I invested in one of these jumpers, like I said it’s super cosy and warm, the soft embrace I exactly needed at this time of year! I couldn’t recommend picking one up yourself more, it’s a great jumper with a great message for a great cause. The perfect gift for yourself or your artsy loved ones this winter.
You can head on over to their shop here and check out their other new ‘Bubble With Me?‘ design for a cheeky take on our current situation, or check them out on Instagram here to keep up with their latest creations in the works.
