Tilly is one person I truly admire in so many ways, so I was really excited to have the opportunity to be working with the Newcastle legend again as makeup artist for this editorial shoot by Pattern.
Titled Radical Self Expression, its evident from our first shoot together when she was just 14 that Tilly has never been afraid to push the margins of celebrating individualism. Her personality and style is still just as iconic as the moment we met, she oozes determination, has an infectious zest for life and her endless positive energy fills every room she walks into.
It’s incredible to see other artists come together for this editorial to celebrate Tilly in the way she deserves. Taking that theme of radical self expression I created two makeup looks that captured her multifaceted essence and matched the briefs of the designers featured.
Two exceptionally talented graduates from Northumbria University showcase their incredible fashions. Melissa Castrignano with her stylings emanating natural icelandic vibes with a Games of Thrones twist, and Rachel Eleanor with a vampy gothic vibe that gives a nod to backstage looks from catwalk shows.
For Melissa’s collection the first look, takes a cleaner, dewy skinned finish, where skin is plump and gently flushed. The SUQQU Shimmer Liquid Highlighter in fresh sheen gives that icy glow of a storybook princess kissed by the winds of the North. Meanwhile the SUQQU Lip Concentrate leaves a royally good full and juicy pout.
Then things take a grungy turn for Rachel’s collection using the SUQQU Tone Touch Eyes in shade 08 for an impactful blue hue that matches the dress. Swiped across the under eye and dramatically smoked out for an bold and alluring statement, the eye shadow matches the energy of the dress whilst SUQQU’s The Foundation and Radiant Cream Concealer allow for a flawless and minimalistic base.
Enjoy, Jo x
