Over the year I exhibit in numerous locations all over the North East to showcase my work as a bridal make-up specialist.

A few weeks ago I had a phone call out the blue from Jen and Hils who were getting married in April 2014 at Middleton Lodge as they wanted to have their make-up applied on their wedding day. I had met Jen and her partner Hils the year prior at a wedding fayre at Middleton Lodge.
In April 2014 the law had changed for same sex couples and now they had the chance to change from civil ceremony wedding to actually getting married on their wedding day. I am not sure but I think Jen and Hils were the first same sex couple to get married in North Yorkshire on 9th April 2014.

I was involved on an inspiring photo shoot which was researched by stationer Vicky Trainor and photographer Becky Mitchell Photography.
The look inspired was a soft, vintage vibe based on an old victorian drawing room. Lace table cloths, crochet stationery, japanese china cups supplied by Make-up by Jo (me) from my uncles travels in Japan in the 50's. The amazing flowers amaryllis, roses, jasmine, potted pansies with the amazing soft colours to represent the shoot. The model with her sultry red hair gave the image a twist to the vintage vibe.

Wanted to write about a wedding inbetween Christmas and New Year.
I had met this lovely bride many months ago, the couple live in America and had come to Middleton In Teasdale area for a couple of days to arrange the wedding. The trial was arranged two days before the wedding as that was the only time the bride could make it back to England with living in America. We had exchanged numerous emails and photos/images of the type of make-up she wanted and had discussed in great detail.
