I'm still not quite over the whirlwind of 2021, so every time I receive more images of gorgeous weddings from last year I am still blown away by how we pulled together such beautiful moments in so much turmoil. I am so grateful amongst restrictions and lockdowns I still managed to get some wonderful time working with amazing brides at my second home, Middleton Lodge.
This time it was Caroline who I was blessed to be spending her wedding morning with. She loved make-up so much that she really relished the opportunity at the trial to deeply discuss all the different aspects of make-up and skincare....
Another week another set of gorgeous images from my summer of endless, back to back beautiful weddings! Of course Sadhana and James were another unfortunate couple whose wedding planned and been thwarted time and time again by COVID and the ever changing restrictions, but they persevered and finally their magically day rolled around on 6th of September just passed.
Taking up lodgings for the night in Middleton Lodge Estate's absolutely stunning Farmhouse the wedding reception naturally took place in the breath taking fig house. Light poured in through the plentiful paned windows that line the walls...
For one of my recent weddings back in the summer I got to enjoy the change of scenery from my usual venues as I spent the morning at Newton Hall with my lovely bride Helen prepping her for the magical day ahead. She opted for a classic bridal look with a dramatic emphasis on the eyes using soft winged liner and false lashes to really add a dark allure. With the addition of a beautiful wavy updo by Saks Hair & Beauty, Helen was looking picture perfect and ready to enjoy her wedding feeling like her best self.
I left feeling super pleased with what a pleasant morning I had with Helen and her bridal...
It's always exciting when a wedding I work on makes a feature with one of our many amazing wedding media platforms we have here in the UK. Mostly because it's just so lovely to see all that hard work, planning, excitement and joy that I know the couple went through is now going to be passed on to inspire so many new couples.
For Danielle and Ben that's exactly what their Love My Dress feature is all about, scrolling through the pages of dreamy shots by Georgina Harrison it's hard not to get filled with blissful thoughts and ideas of what you'd pinch for your own day.
You might remember a couple...
I first chatted to Danielle around the end of March 2020, back whilst we were all still in Lockdown 1, which feels soooo long ago now. If only we knew then what we do now! Anyone else remember thinking it might of all blown over in a couple months at the most? Over a year later, with a lot of patience and careful planning, Danielle and Benjamin were thrilled to finally tie the knot on the 1st of July 2021.
With original plans of a romantic Italian destination wedding, Danielle quickly shifted gears as the pandemic took hold and wisely chose an equally desirable second option, the Fig House...
Take a deep breath and watch this little clip to transport yourself a sunny beach day get away with your other half, adorned with the finest jewellery in dazzling bright colours, what a dream! If you hadn't guessed already, it's another behind the scenes blog to show a day in the life of Jo on location, longside some of the stunning released images too. This time I'm with Ruby and Oscar for their latest summer collection - Colour Pop!
I always look forward to it when the opportunity comes up to work with Ruby and Oscar, I've been lucky enough to have done a couple campaigns...
As the nation prepared for lockdown number 3 back at the end of 2020, I was attending my last wedding of the year. With all the cancellations, uncertainty and moving of dates this lovely couple luckily squeezed in this gorgeous micro wedding to tie the knot just in time before weddings were taken out of the equation again for a number of months thanks to the pandemic.
It was the morning of the 4th of November 2020 and the sun was shining as if it were a good omen of the day to come whilst I met with bride to be Helen. We sat and chatted about the excitements...
After a suprise proposal at Middleton Lodge it was only right that on 12th of July 2019 Helen and Jo returned for their fabulous wedding reception after a traditional church ceremony at the nearby St Michael & All Angels in Middleton Tyas. These pictures by MIKI Photo + Film Studio really capture the essence of the exact day they wanted, a relaxed but elegant and traditional british summer wedding with minimalistic yet sophisticated decor using a white palette with hints of orange and fuschia florals.
For Helen's make-up we wanted a timeless glam that complimented the gorgeous styling...
Whilst keeping inspired looking back on last years weddings and reminding myself of the beautiful days to come again, photographer Jo Bradbury was kind enough to share with me some of the beautiful shots she took from Faye and Adam's big day in 2019.
If you're looking for some serious floral envy and inspiration you're in for a treat with this one. With cottage garden blooms adorning every chair, stairway, door and tabletop as well as the gorgeous hair pieces and bouquets you will get your botanical fix from this wedding. The arrangements all by Picked At Dawn perfectly complimented the natural...
Dame Margaret Barbour has chaired world renowned British fashion brand Barbour for five decades, reinventing the company and their infamous wax jackets from work mans wear to globally sort after piece. She is already decorated with honours such as the DBE and CBE, well deserved for her many years of incredible contributions to British industry and supporting women in it.
In November this year it was Drapers Magazine's turn in showing their respect and appreciation with their Lifetime Of Achievement accolade. I was delighted to be part of the day celebrating Margaret, a legend of my stomping...
