During the month of January I spent two days on location at a photo shoot with a team of photographers and videographer from CCAD ( Cleveland Art and Design) at Hartlepool.
I was prepped beforehand regarding the looks that CCAD were trying to achieve for the Degree Guide. During the course of the two days we were in and around the campus at Hartlepool, on the beach and the famous HMS Trincomalee ship to find the right location for each image to suit the clothing. All the clothing was designed by previous students from CCAD.
All our images can be seen in the Degree Guide and my work is shown...
Wow, where do you begin choosing a foundation ?
There are so many to choose from on the market from light, medium, matt, sheer, satin coverage but one of the foundations I always go back to, particulary for photoshoots for magazine, editorial, beauty shots is the Illamasqua Skin Base Foundation. My main reasons are:
Extensive range of colours to suit all skin types
Easy to apply with either fingertips or with a foundation brush to give...
What does a make-up artist do on her birthday? I get to work on an exciting studio shoot with some fabulous creatives.
Every couple of months I meet up with the two owners of Rock N Rose and photographer Richy Leeson who are all young, enthuastic and full of ideas. Rock N Rose is a huge success online with their own website and featuring on ASOS plus celebrities from Pixie Lott wearing their pieces.
The theme for this collection with disco/1970’s/boho inspired with a modern twist.

Headpieces and jewellery...
I was involved on an inspiring photo shoot which was researched by stationer Vicky Trainor and photographer Becky Mitchell Photography.
The look inspired was a soft, vintage vibe based on an old victorian drawing room. Lace table cloths, crochet stationery, japanese china cups supplied by Make-up by Jo (me) from my uncles travels in Japan in the 50's. The amazing flowers amaryllis, roses, jasmine, potted pansies with the amazing soft colours to represent the shoot. The model with her sultry red hair gave the image a twist to the vintage vibe.
The make-up was an inspiration...
