After a suprise proposal at Middleton Lodge it was only right that on 12th of July 2019 Helen and Jo returned for their fabulous wedding reception after a traditional church ceremony at the nearby St Michael & All Angels in Middleton Tyas. These pictures by MIKI Photo + Film Studio really capture the essence of the exact day they wanted, a relaxed but elegant and traditional british summer wedding with minimalistic yet sophisticated decor using a white palette with hints of orange and fuschia florals.
For Helen's make-up we wanted a timeless glam that complimented the gorgeous styling...
After these few months I definitely think I'm starting to get into the swing of this virtual work life we now all know, so I wanted to share with you my latest creative work. Thanks to another online shoot via video call with the brilliant Malorie Shmyr this time we worked on expressing these virtual connections. The final piece, a moving image Malorie filmed and collated beautifully, is our artistic representation of both the beauty and the struggles of trying to connect through a screen.
Both Malorie and I love the use of bold colour, especially gold, so with this in mind we opted...
A Virtual Photoshoot
During this uncertain time in our lives amidst a global pandemic, we've all got to make adjustments to the way we live and finding our new normal modern lives of 2020. Teaming up with good friend and killer photographer Malorie Shmyr we decided to embark on a new exciting concept for both of us, a virtual photoshoot over facetime. My mind has been working overtime with possibilities, so sitting down and taking time actually get creative was super exciting, and a relief express myself artistically and take a break from all the bad news.
Wanting an organic and raw shoot...
This one is a bit of an oldie but a goodie, throwing it back to 2018 at Saltmarshe Hall with major UK Bridal fashion houses Grace Phillips, Ian Stuart & House of Mooshki for the Belle Bridal Magazine editorial Love in Bloom. The concept behind it was to marry bridal and mother of the bride stylings with a strong 1950's vibe and a specific nod to the imitable Jackie O for the mother of the bride looks. The shoot brought classic clean styles with a touch of personality and sass together in an airy minimal setting. Meanwhilst flowery blooms brought a summery punch of colour alongside the statement...

All working in conjunction with latest film release Le Mans 66 which I totally recommend you go catch in the cinema now! Picture supercharged 80's retro colours and shapes meeting futuristic sports luxe with a healthy punch of cyberpunk neon vibes. It's avantgarde fashion made for the trailblazers and speedracers of tomorrow.
To match this aesthetic I created luxurious...

Feeling inspired this week by a quote I wanted to share with you all by Edgar Allan Poe, from his poem 'A Dream Within A Dream':
"All that we see or seem is but a dream within a dream"
I felt this was a fitting thought to ponder on whilst I show you these pensive shots of some dreamy make-up. These shots were taken in Staithes, North Yorkshire and the make-up I have created was influenced by a 1960's vibe. I used one of my all time favourite products in my kit which is the Ariane Poole Ultimate Face Tint to really add to the model's already gorgeous complexion to give it a glowing flawless...
