It was just a couple weeks ago I was writting here to share with you Laura's dreamy and delicate wedding make-up, how I achieved it and what Laura had to say about it! You can go take a peek at that here for more of the make-up details if you like. Alternatively I am here to share with you that if you want to see more from their ravishing celebrations, those details are now gracing Belle Bridal readers with the ultimate inspiration over on their website here!
From their love story starting in China to their personal challenges through covid and finally a supplier goldmine to help get your own little...
For one of my recent weddings back in the summer I got to enjoy the change of scenery from my usual venues as I spent the morning at Newton Hall with my lovely bride Helen prepping her for the magical day ahead. She opted for a classic bridal look with a dramatic emphasis on the eyes using soft winged liner and false lashes to really add a dark allure. With the addition of a beautiful wavy updo by Saks Hair & Beauty, Helen was looking picture perfect and ready to enjoy her wedding feeling like her best self.
I left feeling super pleased with what a pleasant morning I had with Helen and her bridal...
After rescheduling and rearranging multiple times throughout lockdown after lockdown, at last the 25th of July 2021 was the one that stuck for Laura and her husband. Delighted to finally get married Laura was such a joy to work with for her wedding morning and even more of a joy was to receive this message after from the lovely bride herself...
"Honestly Jo, you were amazing to have as our make-up artist. Our make-up stayed on all day, we looked as good as we did when you had just finished at 3am! None of us could believe someone could be so talented at that! Thank you so much!"
What a compliment,...
What's better than one wedding? How about two? Posie and Harry took getting married to the next level with their epic two day celebration of their love. The first day consisted of a very beautiful and traditional church wedding, only to be followed on the second day with a huge party which even included a military presence from the Queen's Guards. It's safe to say this couple really know how to celebrate in style, so to be included as part of the team pulling this day together was a real honour.
The vibe of Posie's makeup was really about creating a natural emphasis, an understated no makeup...
It's always exciting when a wedding I work on makes a feature with one of our many amazing wedding media platforms we have here in the UK. Mostly because it's just so lovely to see all that hard work, planning, excitement and joy that I know the couple went through is now going to be passed on to inspire so many new couples.
For Danielle and Ben that's exactly what their Love My Dress feature is all about, scrolling through the pages of dreamy shots by Georgina Harrison it's hard not to get filled with blissful thoughts and ideas of what you'd pinch for your own day.
You might remember a couple...
I first chatted to Danielle around the end of March 2020, back whilst we were all still in Lockdown 1, which feels soooo long ago now. If only we knew then what we do now! Anyone else remember thinking it might of all blown over in a couple months at the most? Over a year later, with a lot of patience and careful planning, Danielle and Benjamin were thrilled to finally tie the knot on the 1st of July 2021.
With original plans of a romantic Italian destination wedding, Danielle quickly shifted gears as the pandemic took hold and wisely chose an equally desirable second option, the Fig House...
The sun might be gracing us with plenty of its presence lately, but it certainly wasn't for this Gold Boutique summer shoot back in the end of April! Out on location in the hip area of Newcastle, luckily for us the Ouseburn boasts some super cool graffiti filled arches and walkways that perfectly reflect the intended vibe for the final images. They offered an amazing backdrop and some refuge from the heavens opening before heading to the studio for some close-ups.
When I was considering the make-up I looked over the moodboards I was sent and really felt instantly inspired by the street style...
As the nation prepared for lockdown number 3 back at the end of 2020, I was attending my last wedding of the year. With all the cancellations, uncertainty and moving of dates this lovely couple luckily squeezed in this gorgeous micro wedding to tie the knot just in time before weddings were taken out of the equation again for a number of months thanks to the pandemic.
It was the morning of the 4th of November 2020 and the sun was shining as if it were a good omen of the day to come whilst I met with bride to be Helen. We sat and chatted about the excitements...
Dare I even mention Autumn Winter 2021 clothing? I know we haven't even had our great British summer of freedom we're all hoping for yet, but over on location with Freya Lillie we're getting a head start on crunchy leaves and sweater weather for a shoot featuring their AW21 range.
Obviously, I'm not gonna be showcasing the collection for them, the professional images will be released when they're launching the line in August. However it's such a thrill to be back at work that I was excited to show you these behind the scenes sneak peaks we took and chat to you about trying out some latest...
After a suprise proposal at Middleton Lodge it was only right that on 12th of July 2019 Helen and Jo returned for their fabulous wedding reception after a traditional church ceremony at the nearby St Michael & All Angels in Middleton Tyas. These pictures by MIKI Photo + Film Studio really capture the essence of the exact day they wanted, a relaxed but elegant and traditional british summer wedding with minimalistic yet sophisticated decor using a white palette with hints of orange and fuschia florals.
For Helen's make-up we wanted a timeless glam that complimented the gorgeous styling...
