Creating a Radiant Bridal Makeup Base to Elevate Stephanie’s Natural Beauty

In late August, an unrivaled burst of colour and energy took over The Garden Room in Newcastle’s contemporary wedding venue The Biscuit Factory as Stephanie and Andrew celebrated their newly wedded bliss. If it isn’t clear from these snaps by Margarita Hope Photography, every inch of this unique space was elevated this couple’s laughter, love and exquisitely bold taste.

Creating a bridal makeup for Stephanie was an honour knowing her keen eye good style that became clear as we spoke at lengths about her vision. After an enjoyble chat all about my signature work at her trial to find out just what it was she was looking for, we locked in on her look.  The main focus of course was a glowy skin base, creating radiance using natural tones and techniques that allow a flawless finish.

When creating glow it can be tempting to layer lots of products but the result is often a heavy finish, instead Stephanie was left looking and feeling light and illuminated thanks to some key skin prep. The Beauty Pie Featherlight SPF 50 is a summer staple for simple hydration with sun protection that gives the makeup extra staying power. Then spritzing with my favourite delilah mist to lock in that moisture and start exactly how we mean to go on, healthy and dewy. Finishing her complexion of with the Ariane Poole Ultimate Face Tint, the optimal coverage level from its pigments evening out her skin tone without overtaking her natural beauty.

We pulled in some of her wedding’s overall rosy aesthetic into the cheeks using Merit’s Flush Balms in Stockholm for that pink pop and Fox for depth and dimension, blended to perfection with the Jo Leversuch Multi Use Brush. Meanwhile the lips were given a plumping shine with the Summer Fridays Lip Butter Balm in Vanilla Beige whilst the Lisa Eldridge Lip Pencil in 2C brought the rich pink tones for some definition and added colour.

What a delight it is to see her and Andrew literally laughing and dancing the day away, all the while Stephanie beaming both with both joy and beauty.

Enjoy, Jo x
