Spring Equinox has come and gone, and last month I shared my brand Untitled No 1’s top picks for getting ready for the season ahead here on the blog and our Newsletter. Now it’s time to share the details on creating a look for our Newsletter this equinox.

Each quarter I love working with North East creatives to bring together art that represents that each period, and for the Spring Equinox it was that feeling of renewal, new beginnings and shifting perspectives. Even for when it comes to bridal work, so much of the wedding make-up I create is seasonally influenced for each individual bride, so it’s important for me to stay inspired. It was just amazing to experience this exploration of artistry at Photographer Samantha Orton‘s very own Quay Studio in North Shields.

A refreshed spirit meant a bright, otherworldly glow. Playing with light pink glimmery sheer shadows up to the brow bone and bottom lining with white liner for an symbolic opening of the eyes with colour. It is the season of clarity after all! None of us hold the crystal ball for the days ahead, but we do have the power to create our own journey. That’s why creating work in this way is so impactful for me, a manifestation of what is to come.

I loved using REFY specifically for this make-up for their simplistic but efficient formula design that embodied the right energy, using products like their Eye Balm not only for it’s hydrating power, but to enhance that overall glow that can be created for the whole face.

I created a light but intentional skinbase, using REFY’s Cream Concealers in shade 01 and 02 with the Jo Leversuch Concealer Brush for a really minimal and impactful finish. The precise brush hairs blend seamlessly for a barely there look that never fails to impress me. The radiant skin finish feels symbolic to me of the spring’s opportunity to refresh your spirit.
