Seriously saturated hues and emotive makeup using SUQQU for Awkward Mag

Valentines may have come and gone but love is still in the air, awkward love! Shot for Awkward Mag this issue celebrates the whole spectrum of what it means to love. Take it from the editor herself Liz Sheppard:

 

“Painful. Emotional. Ignore it. Hate it. Stay in. Embrace it. Love it. Cringe-worthy? Expensive flowers. The pressure. Our emotional story for this special edition encompasses all those thoughts. In the words of Poison’s 1988 ‘Every Rose Has Its Thorn’ (Just like every cowboy sings his sad, sad song).”

 

Photographed by Barnaby Fairley and featuruing in house model Lauren this shoot was super edgy and emotive. I used Weleda Skin Food to prep Laurens skin before getting heavy on the dramatics with some seriously saturated SUQQU hues. Bold red and pink tones dominated this look to bring fully flushed cheeks and bright inner eye corner drama. Full fluffy brows using WBCo were the cherry on top of for this moody style.
