I jumped at the opportunity to help create content for Opalus Magazine. Having worked with Creative Director Malorie Shmyr before during the likes of things such as Fashion Week, I knew her incredible eye for art and that this would be a great opportunity to work on something special.
Opalus is a submission based magazine that publishes fashion and beauty photography, fine art and illustration. However that’s just putting it lightly, beyond that it is a place for artistic minds to be engaged and inspired by all things beautiful and perculiar. A community self proclaimed to be where fantasy and creativity collide, the publication gives artists from all over the opportunity to be showcased to the world.
Flower Pigments is a simple yet punchy piece featuring five looks with their respective blooms that inspired the brief for each shot. Each gorgeous shot photographed by Malorie Shmyr herself was created to capture the essence of the flowers through the hues, style and attitude of the image, because after all isn’t nature the greatest inspiration?
All make-up I used for this shoot was none other than the fantastic SUQQU, one of my latest obsessions. Here’s what I used:
