Yep that’s right, I’ve been back at it again with my favourite musical duo Talk Like Tigers and I’m bringing you the behind the scenes to see our day full of 80’s synth pop, glitter and glam! If you hadn’t already read my earlier blog about working on their last shoot then you will have missed me raving about how much I adore this rising indie-pop dream team of sisters Charlotte & Stephanie. For this shoot we were creating looks to film their music video for latest release ‘Annabel’s Calling‘ which you can watch down below!

Whilst they’re bring some serious throwback vibes with their sound and look, the protagonist Annabel of their latest single ‘Annabell’s calling’ couldn’t be any more modern. Inspired by a character in Maggie O’Farrell’s book ‘This Must Be The Place’ the pair describe Annabel:

“The song is about an inspirational woman who works hard, achieves success and gets everything that she wants. Annabel is strong and independent. She turns everything to gold and almost possesses supernatural powers. She captivates everyone and effortlessly attracts good things.

Keeping this balance in mind that they had chosen to strike between the funky 80’s fashions and the empowering modern women, I crated multiple make-up looks for them that encapsulated the era but in a bold and unabashed style that’s I like to think would be true to Annabel’s personality. From overstated blue eye shadow matched with pink lips that brings that quintesincal energy of the time, to a striking liner and bold red lip thats totally en vouge. In between you’ll find plenty of blush, shimmering highlighting and full of striking glitter lids. All of this was applied to perfection thanks to my kit full of Shiseido and a little help from some kyrolan glitters and gels.
