The Breast Cancer Care Show 5 October 2011.
Before October finishes i must write about an important month, October, the support for Breast Cancer Care Month. This is a worthy cause to help women and men with breast cancer. The whole month is dedicated to all to help raise awareness and money for this charity.
I had the amazing opportunity to spend the whole day at Grosvenor House Hotel London on 5 october 2011 with amazing “Stars of the Show” our models, including men and women ( one model being TV’s Trisha Goddard) These women and men have had or have breast cancer and also some of the women had secondary cancer.
There were two shows the first hosted by Ruth Langsford. The Afternoon tea served whilst watching the catwalk show. The flamboyant stylist Hilary Alexander with assistant Natasha Cowan had arranged an amazing show with some fantastic designers Alexander McQueen, Vivienne Westwood, Roberto Cavalli, Philip Treacy, Catherine Walker, Bruce Oldfield, Butler and Wilson to name but a few. The show theme for this year was Day at the Races, Orient Express, Cocktail Hour, Twilight, 70’s disco, Lady in Red, Winter Wonderland. Hair stylists from Sasson Salon and Make-up by Estee Lauder and Celebrity International Make-up Artist Ariane Poole.
The evening show was a full dinner dance with dancers from Strictly come Dancing and singing from Heather Small. Another catwalk by the amazing models who i have kept in touch with one amazing women call Lou. These models are an inspiration to us all, they are all aspiring people who have gone through some major pain and heartache with the breast cancer. During the day there was an uplifting amount of laughter in the hotel for the whole day, with such a ” flair for life.”
The show ended with our goodbyes to each other with goodie bags from Estee Lauder and outfits donated by the designers.
I will remember all the models i met on this show with great respect.
