It’s always an exciting day when I receive a gift in the post from SUQQU as I know that parcel is going to be jam packed with amazing products. I love the Japanese colour theory with make-up so it would be an understatment to say SUQQU are my cup of tea. From experience now I know I can rely on them for beautiful pigments that always perform which are also perfect for my style and vibe of make-up where I draw a lot of influence from japanese techniques.
Their latest collection of colour makeup for AW21 really delivers on the hues beyond my expectations. The products launching August 21st are inspired by the Japanese term “Gyokuju” which refers to both a noble tree and a person of beauty and integrity. These words evoke a passion in me to dive head first into these colours as the idea of integrity within beauty resonates so much with my personal make-up style.
For me it’s not about layers and layers to cover up and become someone new, for me its about working with what you’ve got. To highlight your natural beautiful skin with a touch of playfulness here and there in the with splashes of colour. Whilst both types of make-up have their place in this world, its the latter for me. I want my brides, models and clients to feel like themselves at all times. I know I can always achieve this with SUQQU in my hands!
With great eagerness I opened up my package and got to wokr! Here’s the run down of all the lovely gifts inside that I used for my little at home test shoot, no filters, just me, my iphone, my lovely Goose Collection jumper and some gorgeous SUQQU products:
The Akeshizuku shadow is a delicate pink mauve shade which has an instant impact with its sparkle that really makes it pop. Yobu can feel the gentle autumnal sunset vibes that inspired this shadow the moment you layer it onto your lids, I love using my finger to tap this shade on for a quick and easy luffed out iridescence to brighten the eyes. Using the Kuchiha blusher brings the perfect flush of red-brown for that added warmth to your cheeks that will play beautifully with backdrops of crunchy leaves and pumpkin patches. I really love the incredibly simple but totally effective Koikurumi rich walnut brown lipstick shade to be the perfect touch for any autumnal look.
You can watch me below in this quick little demo on hyperlapse that I took to show you how I like to apply these products, as well as to prove how quick and easy it can be to create a perfect autumn look with these new releases. Keep your eyes peeled for them coming soon!
Enjoy, Jo x
I can not guarantee that all of the make-up and skincare products I recommend will suit you. I only use products I personally think are good having tried them on myself and my clients but everyone’s skin is different and it’s possible to be allergic to anything. Wherever possible, test products out on yourself before purchasing.
