For those of you that know me well you will already know what a huge lover of Steamcream I am. It’s one of my must have all time moisturisers that I’ve used in both my kit and my personal life for many years now. I have tried and tested it up against the many moisturisers that pop up every year promising us the earth, but Steamcream always prevails as my favourite time and time again.
This is so much so that the original Streamcream that comes with a delicate lavender scent has almost become a trade mark with me, my regular models and clients know to expect to see it when I open up my kit for the day. Quite often I get told “Jo we know we are working with you as we can smell the Steamcream”.
Over the last year however the company have been developing their lines based on the Japanese philosophy that there are not just four but seven seasons in a year and our skin deserves optimised care for each of those periods. As our skin goes through these several transitions in the year they have formulated different iterations of their amazing original formula with extra ingredients to truly care for your skin whatever the weather.
So far I have genuinely found that each of these seasonal releases has been just an elevated version of what I already know and love Steamcream to be. The only downside is not having that original scent people synonymously know me for, but I actually have enjoyed explaining to people this Japanese belief system and how this version of Steamcream can serve them even better!
Currently I am using the Steamcream Rose Absolute, their creation for the midst of winter where our skin needs extra protection from balancing between the icy cold outdoors and the dry heat from our radiators inside! Both of these conditions can be tricky but the regular switch between the two really can lead to incredibly dehydrated and irritiable skin that is crying out for nourishment.
This is where Steamcream Rose Absolute is essential, it has been a total dream for my skin so far in 2022. Firstly you open up your tin to be greeted with the gorgeous smell of the heavily scented romantic Damask Rose, which you may recognise from some of the worlds best rose scented perfumes. Blended with soothing shea butter its a blissful combination that leaves even the most delicate aspects of the skin deeply soothed from the winter’s wrath.
At just £15.95 a tin I find this rescue remedy that is worth its weight in gold, is actually priced incredibly reasonably. Your skin will thank you, trust me!
Enjoy, Jo x
