Picture this, I’m waking up feeling bedraggled for an early morning start, looking at my phone wondering how on earth I missed the news about the Northern Lights the night before! Feeling some serious fomo as I scrolled through everyones pictures, I gathered myself and my kit to get off to work. And what a welcome work day it was, the instant pick me up I felt as I stepped into the incredible ground of Swinton Estate, boasting its very own version of impressive natural beauty.
A true Yorkshire gem of a wedding venue, the sprawling estate sits on the edge of the Dales and just oozes luxury, sophistication and serenity. The perfect opportunity to start pushing myself to take more ‘BTS’ style pictures of my bridal makeup work and get out of my head about feeling sorry for myself! These few weeks later since, I still feel sad to have not seen the auroras, but this following day definitely softened the blow.
Sophie was calm as anything, maybe it was in part the estate’s effect that I was already feeling too, but from having enjoyed her company during her trial before hand I know she already had a head start with her natural, relaxed energy. It was such a lovely chilled morning getting ready with the bridal party as natural light poured in the huge picture windows, the weather had really put on its best show for this wedding!
As the mothers and bridesmaids pottered around prepping for the special moments ahead, Sophie took to my chair for her no-makeup makeup style that felt natural and light. Using products from Ariane Poole and Charlotte Tilbury to craft delicate layers that allowed her own beauty to shine through, subtly enhancing her own glow for the incredible day before her.
It might not have been seeing the Northern Lights, but the beauty of the location and the people sure came close! Thank you so much to Sophie for having me and all the best of luck in love to her and Thomas.
