I first met Sophie back in March 2020, just a few days before official lockdown number 1 began. It was her bridal make-up trial I can remember her in tears, as any bride would be, all that time ago filled with uncertainty for what would come of her wedding she had planned for June 2020. Little did we know back then just how naive we were to hope for a much smaller set back than we got, in almost every way of life let alone weddings!
None the less we went ahead with the trial with crossed fingers and minds filled with hope. During we discussed what key elements Sophie felt were important to her for wedding day look. It’s a staple for her to have a bold black eyeliner look, so it naturally has to be part of her big day too or it just wouldn’t be true to Sophie! We decided to pair the dramatic look of her black eyeliner with a beautiful contrast of rosy pink blushed cheeks, another favourite of hers.
Fast forward to the not so distant past of, on September the 18th 2021 and Sophie was beaming with happiness on her wedding morning and smiling from ear to ear with such excitement that she was finally getting married. I got to work putting together her beautiful bridal make-up she had chosen over a year ago and couldn’t help but feel grateful for how far everything has come since that fateful week when Lockdowns began and the pandemic truly kicked off.
After a lovely traditional wedding in a nearby Church, Sophie and her new husband enjoyed long awaited celebrations at The Morritt Arms. Working on these wonderful weddings knowing each brides struggle throughout the pandemic, be it busy and hectic, is still just as heart warming every time!
