Take a deep breath and watch this little clip to transport yourself a sunny beach day get away with your other half, adorned with the finest jewellery in dazzling bright colours, what a dream! If you hadn’t guessed already, it’s another behind the scenes blog to show a day in the life of Jo on location, longside some of the stunning released images too. This time I’m with Ruby and Oscar for their latest summer collection – Colour Pop!
I always look forward to it when the opportunity comes up to work with Ruby and Oscar, I’ve been lucky enough to have done a couple campaigns with them now and the team are always such fun. Not to mention the brilliant looks we get to pull together for the campaigns. This time it was extra exciting as we were out of our usual studio setting and down to the sea side!
The vibe was all about it’s name sake, colour pop, with vibrant hues and jewellery from the latest collection to be showcased throughout the shoot. Blyth Beach was the perfect backdrop with its bold and funky beach huts setting the scene for a romantic shoot between two young models having a lovely day at the beach. Considering it was April too we were so lucky to be blessed with sunny blue skies to contrast against the golden sand dunes all day long.
To meet the brief I first focused on my perfected skin base prepping the skin with Steamcream, the handcrafted japanese steam emulsion melts into the skin like no other and it’s a product I’ve been coming back to time and time again for years now. They even have a new forumla with UV protection perfect for a sunny beach day! Building off of the model’s healthy happy bases I’ve now prepped withShiseido Synchro Skin Self Refreshing foundation and a littleNARS Soft Matte Complete Concealer for the ultimate photo ready perfected base.
Brows are a no brainer these days as there is nothing on the market that comes close to comparing to Soap Brows, no matter what the client wants I can create that look from fluffy to sleek!
Now it was time to bring the colour…
As a sophisticated brand I didn’t want to go over board so for the female model there was a gentle blush on the cheeks from Suqqu’sPure Colour Blush 05 was matched with a striking red liner on the lid from Shiseido’s Kajal Ink Azuki Red for a bold moment amongst all the soft beauty. Finished with gorgeous nude lip that stood up to the ocean winds with its stay all day power from Stila’s Stay all Day in Bellezza.
Seeing the final images amongst the BTS now I am so pleased with how the look turned out, the warm red hues play brilliantly against the stylists amazing choices and the whole shoot feel so young, playful and romantic! The whole day really lived up to my expecations of a good day out on location with Ruby and Oscar.
