Writing this blog I am sat looking out the window as it snows and becomes a winter wonderland outside, I can’t help but think about how much time we really are spending inside this lockdown number 3 especially. I took it upon myself earlier in the day and seized the opportunity to get out of the house for my walk so that I could take a few photos of the magical snowy scenes. By the time I got back home I was really feeling the effects on my face of coming in from the cold bitter elements into the intense central heating. Although it may be a beautiful time of year it’s a hard one on our skin!
It can also be hard this time of year to chose the right skincare to keep your face as fresh as the winds feel. That’s what brings me to the brand Malin + Goetz, conceived in New York, it’s safe to say creators Matthew Malin and Andrew Goetz know the importance of good skin care living in a bustling city that can drop to some serious sub zero temperatures come winter time. Their brilliant range of skincare carries an ethos for a modern design with uncomplicated products, packed full of hydrating and pure ingredients their formulas bear in mind the sensitive skinned amongst us especially. So I would I recommend Malin+Goetz? Absolutely yes! Keep reading to find out my favourite two products this winter, I am definitely looking forward to trying their shampoos and candles in the future.
The Malin+Goetz Facial cleaning oil smells and feels divine on the skin. Especially as I am still making an effort through lockdown to wear my usual beloved eye make-up even just to brighten up the days around the house, I love picking up this cleanser at the end of the day for a really luxurious feel whilst I am washing my face ready for bed.
Some of the main ingredients are lavender and eucalyptus oil which gives you a sense of feeling you are having a fancy spa treatment. All you need is a small amount of the cleansing oil which then emulsifies with water into a gentle milk, it literally removes makeup in a such a quick and easy way.
I am a huge fan of the traditional cleansing cotton cloths, I am currently using some from a Danish brand using organic cotton which work well as a combined with this oil for a cleansing routine during the morning and evening.
We all need some recovery during this 3rd and hopefully final round of lockdown and the Recovery Treatment oil is an ideal way to kick start your recovery. A real luxury item using nine essential natural oils which all help to rejuvenate the skin and give you the glow and radiance which we all love and aspire to.
One of the main ingredients is the rosehip and the grape seed oil which are key ingredients in helping to restore a healthy complexion in the winter months when our skin can be a bit raw and dull.
I personally love to use oils at nightime as this is the crucial time when your skin renews and repair whilst you sleep. I recommend using upto 5 drops from the pipette and slowly massage into the skin and give yourself a mini facial before bedtime, you deserve it!
Disclaimer!
I can not guarantee that all of the make-up and skincare products I recommend will suit you. I only use products I personally think are good having tried them on myself and my clients but everyone’s skin is different and it’s possible to be allergic to anything. Wherever possible, test products out on yourself before purchasing.
