Lauren and I met many moon cycles ago at work when I was doing her makeup and she was just starting out as a model. I’m sure you’ll be able to tell from her stunning wedding images she’s very good at her job. From the beginning I always remember Lauren saying to me “Jo when I get married I want you to be there on the day creating the makeup”, which is honestly such a compliment considering within our industry Lauren has travelled the world working with countless amazing makeup artists on epic campaings, but she chose me for her special day and it was an absolute pleasure!
When I first met lauren I was of course using Steamcream and its been an ever lasting memory of the lavender for her, so we used the cream on the day for that full circle moment. Not only did it feel nostalgic but Steamcream also creates the ideal skinbase, it’s one of the many reasons I love using it because I know I will be able to layer any type of concealer and foundations on top no problem.
Lauren is a true natural beauty, so that morning at Brinkburn Priory we wanted to make sure we didn’t do too much to distract from her already striking features and just build upon the moisturised base our skincare had routine had left us. I created soft makeup and a hint of colour for a very subtle look, sticking to both NARS products for the skinbase meant a seamless blend with light coverage simply using a little of the Pure Radiant Tinted Mosituriser and Radiant Creamy Concealer.
Focusing most of the colour on the lips, I created that almost bee stung vibe to compliment the flush of gentle rosy tones from the SUQQU Pure Colour Blush on the cheeks. The shade Velvet Muse from the Lisa Eldridge lipstick range was the perfect choice for this with its sensual smoky pink and brown pigments, just enough colour to stand out but not too much to steal the show.
I hope you love this peek into Lauren and Keir’s gorgeous day as much as I did!
Enjoy, Jo x
