Hot off the plane from Ethiopia, I arrived in Newcastle for what I’m dubbing as the wedding of the year so far!
After working around the clock on a photoshoot in the swealtering heat of Addis Ababa, it was a quick turn around to get back to the UK and into wedding mode but wow was it worth it. I’m not sure words can really describe how beautiful Isabella and Dom’s wedding was. A true representation of their love for one and other, their superstar team of suppliers transformed Newcastle Cathedral into an etheral, magical and cosy space to host their celebrations.
Having secretly got married the day before in a smaller intimate ceremony for just family, there was a real sense of cool calmness surrounding Isabella as we sat together working on her makeup. Now was the time to really just enjoy their nuptials with all their favourite people, and I was ready to bring my own slice of magic to her day.
The look created for Isabella was all about emulating an effortlessly chic vibe that was on par with the energy she naturally exudes. Having trialed some Tatcha products on location in Ethiopia just days before, I knew that The Water Cream moisturiser and The Liquid Silk Canvas primer were the ideal lightweight combo to prep her base with since the UK was feeling pretty humid too!
Once her skin was feeling refreshed and ready I got to work really bringing to life that cool girl asthetic, but amping it up with plenty of bronze tones. Layers of glowing goodness from the likes of Charlotte Tilbury’s Filmstar Bronze & Glow and Chanel’s Les Beiges Bronzing Cream carved out goddess like proportions in to her cheeks whilst a delicate shine on the lids using shade Crystal Taupe by Ariane Poole highlighted her eyes.
I continued this radiant, warm makeup style for the bridal party too. The bridesmaids look was lustrous under the twinkling lights that adorned the catherdral and mother of the bride Janet truly stood out from the crowd with her bold pop of red lipstick thanks to Lisa Eldridge’s Velvet Ribbon.
These snippets of the gorgeous second cermony by the uber talented photographer Steph capture just some of the breath-taking moments to give you an idea of the day.
Enjoy, Jo x
