What started as just a holiday to New Zeland many years ago now, turned into a whirlwind love story for bride Helen who was struck by cupids arrow when she met Peter on her vacation. Since that moment their love has blossomed, with Helen moving her whole career out to New Zeland to start her life with her man. Then March the 4th rolls around, and Helen and Peter bring New Zeland to North Yorkshire for an intimate private wedding in the quaint and cosy Fig House and its flourishing Walled Farden at Middleton Lodge.
Many long distance journeys have been made in the name of this romantic story, so it was only natural they made enough to have their ceremony here in the UK. All of their Kiwi friends and family hopped on a plane to come together with their British loved ones to celebrate the pair, even the wedding dress took the flight all this way for the special occasion and thankfully arrived in one piece.
Knowing all the distance Helen and some of her bridesmaids had travelled, I really wanted to make sure I got the make-up perfect for this very special occasion they’d invested so much in. The brief was all about enhancing their own natural beauty but bring in a hint of copper and bronzed shades into the mix.
Building a natural base is music to my ears, and almost always starts with a selection of Ariane Poole Cosmetics to create my signature perfected skin. For Helen we used the Ultimate Face Tint because this product is so multi purpose with its abilities to prime, tint, give coverage and feel moisturising. The all in one nature of the Ultimate Face Tint means I can use less product, giving a much more natural finish to Helen’s face.
Once the foundations were set with a perfected skin base, we moved on to colour! Considering the notes of bronze and copper that Helen wanted to bring into the makeup, I knew the Charlotte Tilbury Luxury Palette’s would have exactly the shades we needed. These eyeshadow quads come in a huge range of colourways that compliment each other perfectly and perform just as well too. The Bella Sofia is one of my favourites and is packed with just the right mesmerising metallic shades for this wedding.
