Newcastle’s own Kate Falcus Wood marries bridal and fashion with her gorgeous handmade bridalwear brand Falcus & Wood, and her launch campaign called for equally luxurious makeup. I was so excited to be working with Kate, as a designer her pieces have been recognised globally by prestigious members of the fashion community and really are works of art. Now with the launch of collection 001, her gowns are now available to purchase here in the UK!
The brief was natural and dewy which is exactly my style, my ethos and my vibe as a makeup artist! That’s why I used some of my natural no-makeup makeup favourites like the Ariane Poole Concealer Palette Trio, that way I could keep the base makeup minimal only spot correcting small areas over a thin layer of the Typology Tinted Face Serum for the perfected base. Ariane’s concealer has such a reliable formula that leaves an untraceable finish.
Another often over looked part of natural style makeup is the brows, I love using The Brow Pencil by WBCo because the tones of their pigments are the closest I’ve ever found to mimic natural brow hair.
Then to bring in the dewy aspect of the brief we of course used the Lisa Eldridge Elevated Glow Highlighter for a realistic radiance that gave model Josefina that it girl glow. For a touch of extra lustre and sheen the Chanel Baume Essentiel Multi Use Glow Stick made the eyes pop and played incredibly well with the shoot’s photography style as a bonus.
Finishing things off with the Vanilla Beige shade from Summer Friday’s Lip Butter Balm, the juicy glossy finish was the perfect natural tone for the launch campaign’s vibe/
