Now that I am in my 50’s skincare is a whole new challenge. It’s not something we all first think of when we say menopause to one and other, but once you’re in it you soon realise its a very challenging aspect of it you never expected before. Between all the night sweats and aching bones I’ve been finding myself more and more sleep deprived and lethargic and that’s just the tip of the iceberg of it! One of the symptoms that’s been quite noticably for me as it’s what my job’s all about, is ‘Menopause face’ aka hormone faace, hot faace, sleep-deprived faace, why am I getting spots again faace. For me specifically my face is looking and feeling thinner as it looses that soft spongy texture along with that young glow we all love and idolise so much.
This isn’t just a blog of me listing of complaints though, don’t worry. Whilst it’s definitely important to share our experiences of menopause together, it’s also exciting and important to share the wins in battling its effects. So that’s why I’m telling you about my joy when I opened up a suprise delivery from FAACE owner and founder Jasmine Wicks-Stephens with two masks inside. My eyes instantly diverted to the Meno Pause mask, it’s as if Jasmine had heard my prayers.
Pause is such a perfect word to sit with for a moment and well, pause! We all need to take a moment for ourselves and put everything else on hold every so often and masks are one of those self care treats I love to do that with. I’ve been taking that time for myself regularly with the Meno Pause mask as it can be used any time night or day to really take care of yourself and nourish your skin. There are no set ways to use it which is what I love, just how ever you feel it suits you. At the end of the day Menopause can really effect us all so differently so this flexible little tube of magic is ideal to help any one tackle its symptoms.
For me the first way I have been applying the mask is as a treatment of the skin using a brush to really layer a thick amount of product over my face to leave on for over 20 minutes. By the 20 minute mark there usually really isn’t much of the product left on my skin. I can tell how much my skin needs the boost Meno Pause gives it as it just absorbs so gorgeously in leaving a much plumper, glowing and refreshed feeling behind.
The second less conventional way I love to use Meno Pause is as a primer! By popping on just a fine layer you can use the mask to create a glowing base that I apply my concealer or tinted moisturiser on top of for such an easy make-up look.
I highly recommend you pick some up for yourself if you’re struggling with your menopause too, it even helps fight those pesky new spots popping up! It’s available from We Are Faace for just £29, I’d love to even hear of other ways you’ve found to use your Meno Pause mask.
Enjoy Jo x
I can not guarantee that all of the make-up and skincare products I recommend will suit you. I only use products I personally think are good having tried them on myself and my clients but everyone’s skin is different and it’s possible to be allergic to anything. Wherever possible, test products out on yourself before purchasing.
