Natural, Glowing Skin for Emma’s Bridal Makeup at The Croft Hotel

The Summer of 2024 was all about glowy, natural looking skin for weddings here in the North East. Naturally, as the local ‘Queen of Skin’ I’ve been in my element, sharing all my favourite minimalistic, skin focused techniques with my bridal makeup clients for that maximum radiant impact for their aisle style.

Emma’s bridal look added a pop of colour to this fresh faced theme and it perfectly matched the bold and joyful vibes of her wedding with now husband Nick. North Yorkshire’s The Croft Hotel served as some serious back drop envy, with some seriously luxurious foliage and a very instagramable big pink door.

Nothing could have upstaged Emma though, wearing her smile all day long, it’s been such a treat to look over the photos of her full day and see that her great energy and great makeup lasted beautifully long into the night. Keeping things light on the base for that natural, barely there yet perfected makeup style that she asked for, I used the Ariane Poole Ultimate Face Tint.

Whilst I used a combination of the Nars Liquid Blush and SUQQU Pure Colour Blush to get the balance of tone and shine that we wanted, we kept it very light in coverage just to bring a hint of rosy tones to her cheeks. Meanwhile the eyeshadow colours featured down to earth taupe and tan shades to bring a warm dimension that didnt feel over powering. I love using The Sophisticate Luxury Palette from Charlotte Tilbury for this as the low-key, matte colours blend so beautifully together so I can customise the way I use the tones for what kind of eye shape my bride wants.

The notes of pink continued for Emma’s lip colour. She opted for The Velvet Petal shade from Lisa Eldridge’s True Velvet Lip Colour’s for the day time and it was the perfect day time spring peony inspired hue. But the evenings celebrations called for a richer and more dramatic colour and she switched things up with the shade Velvet Ribbon.
