People that know me are aware that I am a huge fan and supporter of those furry black and white striped insect bodies called bees.
You may be shouting out as you are reading this not bees, bees sting, I am allergic to them, they are annoying why Bees.?
Bees are essential to our planet and our lives on a daily basis. A 3rd of our food comes from the pollination of bees and these furry insects are a critical part to the food, plants and herbs on our planet.
30 years' ago in 1984 Burt’s Bees was founded in Maine Canada by Roxanne Quimby and Burt Shavitz. Humble beginnings from selling beeswax...
I am thrilled to be Beauty Expert for Unveiled Magazine which has just been launched for the wedding season this month.
As well as my work being showcased on the front cover of the magazine I have also written an article for the first edition outlining a step by step guide on how to create the look using Charlotte Tilbury make-up.
You can get your hands on a copy at all major wedding fayres throughout the North East or contact them direct on www.darlingtonweddings.co.uk for information of wedding fayres.

I am a huge fan of the Estee Lauder Double Wear range from the foundations, concealers, powders, eyeliners to the lipsticks but during these warm summer weeks the Double Wear Foundation even Double Wear Foundation Light can be too much for the skin.
Estee Lauder Double Wear have, however, brought out their All-Day Glow BB Moisture make-up which is fabulous for these hot summer times.
What is a BB cream - this is what is quoted by Wikipedia “BB Cream stands for blemish blam, blemish base, beblesh balm ( apparently because of the trademark in Korea on the word “ blemish” ) and in Western...
A couple of weeks' ago I had the opportunity to work with a photographer, Tracy Kidd Photography, and really wanted to try out my Liz Earle Sheer Lip Gloss.
I normally find that lip glosses can usually leave a sticky feel on the lips and even can get stuck in long hair!!!
During the studio shoot I wanted to create a “wet look” on the lips with inspiration taken from the days of 70s disco, the famous Studio 54 to disco diva Donna Summer.
In this shoot I used the Liz Earle Sheer Lip Gloss in Water Lily number 12 and I must say this is a “must have” lip gloss to purchase to wear...
About a month ago I was given a selection of products to try from Liz Earle. In the past I have tried the award winning Cleanse & Polish with the muslin cloth but hadn’t really tried anything else from the range. I was, therefore, really keen to start using my Liz Earle products.
Liz Earle co founded the range with Kim Buckland in 1995. Liz Earle is an award winning Great British brand with its Head Office located on the Isle of Wight. Liz Earle excels in excellent customer service, product research and finding the finest ingredients for the range.
What were my thoughts about...
There are so many concealers on the market and we walk around the department stores and look bemused at which ones to choose…. they are either too white and chalky or too dark for the skin tone which leave the skin feeling clogged up with the make-up.
I came across a concealer by Ariane Poole whom I met many years' ago and had the good fortune that our paths crossed…. she offered to re-train me back into the industry after I left the fashion industry and has been my mentor.
You may ask who is Ariane Poole?…. Ariane is an international celebrity make-up artist who has worked with some...
I have been trying out a new cream blusher over the last couple of weeks on myself and my clients. I can hear you all say 'cream blusher they fade away in the skin, don’t last, feel sticky and tacky on the skin, you never get the colour you want'.
Not this product. The Charlotte Tilbury Beach Sticks are a revelation. This cream turned balm mix of smoothing ingredients, glowing pigments of colour and light reflecting particles are so easy to use on the cheeks and an added bonus is the sticks can be used on the lips as well.
The five glorious shades just remind you of summertime:

In my previous weekly blogs I have talked about my one to one make-up lessons that I offer to clients.
I really wanted to share with you my experience with a client whom I met for a one to one make-up lesson recently.
When I met this lovely lady she was so nervous and shy as she explained she didn’t bring her make-up bag with her as she didn’t own one and had never worn make-up ever…. my client is 58!
So my first question was why now? What has changed? How do you want the make-up to look and feel?
She replied “it is my daughter's wedding this year and also I feel that now at...
I get asked all the time how do I keep my make-up on? what primer should I use?
In my make-up kit I do have a varied range of primers for different skin types but recently I came across a wonderful new cosmetic range from California in United States of America. Hourglass are renowned for their superb product range with exceptional staying power and when searching through all their amazing products I discovered Hourglass Veil Mineral Powder SPF 15 Primer.
This primer is pure luxury which makes the skin feel divine. The reason I am writing about Hourglass Veil Mineral Primer is the main key factor...
