Why it’s important to choose the right Bridal MUA

A little over two years on and we’re taking a fresh look at Lauren and Keir’s wedding at Northumberlands incredible wedding venue Brinkburn Priory. Having met when she was working as a model, Lauren is still flourishing within her industry. This look back at her wedding photography reveals just a glimpse into her growing talent, and how luxurious, expertly done wedding makeup is timeless.

This is the value in chosing the right MUA when planning your wedding, with images you will look at for years to come, it’s important to me that you look back and feel like an incredible representation of yourself that will age with grace. That’s why it was such a compliment when Lauren chose me to create her look, having travelled as a model working with lots of amazing makeup artists. She trusted in my skills to deliver her makeup that she will feel incredible in on the day, and that she will always look back at fondly.

Whilst Lauren already has great skin, seeing as it’s part of her job, it was still important to me to customise a makeup blend that elevated her beauty and made her feel extra special. We started with Streamcream for an ultra moisturised base, just like I did on the day we met. The sweet lavender scent of steamcream has served as a reminder to many clients as a reminder of our time together because I love to use it thanks to how incredibly it primes the skin for all day makeup wear.

For a soft full face glow just a small amount of the Pure Radiant Tinted Mosituriser by NARS goes a long way, creating a sheer dewy base. From there I used the NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer to spot correct and blend out seamlessly into the tinted moisturiser. This ultra light layer allows for colour correction that still looks natural, which my favourite way to create a look for all skin types. Very few people need that extreme full coverage for every millimetre of their face. Instead a light, but precise hand is what makes the difference for comfortable long wearing bridal looks.

That comfort, still looking like yourself and being able to enjoy your day with concern for multiple touch ups makes all the difference. Whether its for enjoying your actual day to the fullest, or for when you’re flicking through an album in the future.

For a bit of subtle colour we created a flush of gentle rosy tones from the SUQQU Pure Colour Blush on the cheeks that complimented her Velvet Muse pout. Tones based in sensual smoky pink and brown pigments allowed for dimension that made her features pop, yet still felt classic and minimalistic.
