Ethereal Bridal Make-up at Rustic Runa Farm For Helena

It’d had been a while since I’d stepped foot on the grounds of the beautiful Runa Farm, perhaps since the incredible pop up wedding show by Belle Bridal in 2022! But I was so happy to be back as a bridal makeup artist to enjoy a morning full of warm bubbling energy as I helped Helena get ready for her wedding day. I’m so grateful to Sasha Lee Photography for capturing some of those MUA moments with Helena and her bridal party where you can really feel the excitement building up.

Sitting on the intersection where rustic charm meets etheral magic, Runa Farm is a real gem on the Durham wedding venue scene and Helena’s gorgeous flowing gown and wholesome allure matched perfectly. I wanted to continue to enhance that ethereal energy using make-up to really elevate the finished look, featuring the Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk Luxury Eyeshadow Palette soft smokey eye for a real warm and dimensional moment. Amping up the drama a little extra I took the Exager-Eyes black eyeliner across her top lid only to take the eye look even further.

Helena’s beautiful porcelain like skin was created with first a combination of the Ariane Poole Ultimate Face Tint and the NARS Soft Matte Concealer. The tint allows me to keep the majority of the face light weight and natural looking, whilst the concealer is used only in essential colour correcting areas to keep her skin feeling fresh and comfortable. It’s a favourite combination among many brides that come to me for my luxurious, perfected skin base wedding day makeup that feels amazing to wear all day long!

But for the dewy finish for this skin base, prep is also a hugely important key. It’s not always about layering highlighter ontop, its about what goes underneath. Helena’s skin was treated to a mini massage before any make-up touched her face using My Skin Feels Moisturised followed by delilah’s Wake Up Radiant Hydrating Skin and Make-Up Mist.

For a classic and subtle rosy cheeked pop of colour, I love blending Merit Flush Balm and SUQQU Pure Colour Blush just like I did here. The combination and textures come together so beautifully for a custom shade and sheer, elegant end result. The finishing touch was the go to wedding lipstick colour that looks good on almost everyone, Charlotte Tilbury’s Pillow Talk Lipstick. It’s such a wedding day winner, the warm-toned, understated nude pink has such a classically romantic essense that embodies the bridal ideal. Helena’s lip finish was given an extra shine by layering on top the Summer Friday’s Lip Butter Balm in Vanilla Beige too.
